Ultrasound

  • An ultrasound exam is a way of looking inside a patient’s body without having to perform surgery.

The ultrasound machine sends sound waves into the body, then listens for the echoes which are used to form a picture of the inside of the patient. These sound waves are too high in pitch for us, or any of our patients, to hear and produce no harmful effects.

Most pets relax and tolerate the procedure well, though light sedation can be given if need.

The technique is invaluable for the examination of internal organs for location, size, shape, texture, and blood supply as well as for heart issues and pregnancy. In the hands of a board certified specialist, these images are a vital tool in assessing your pet's health.
